Activities are inspired by participant needs, interests, and personal history. Participants have the right to refuse to participate in any given activity.
Nora’s Caring Companions ADC activities provide a mix of the following types of activities:
- Social activities that provide opportunities for social interaction, friendship formation, and caring relationships.
- Group and Individual activities to help build self-confidence, peer support, and encouragement. Reinforce skills that are relevant to both group and individual.
- Educational activities provide opportunities to learn new ideas and skills, rekindle old skills, and continue the personal growth of all participants.
- Recreational activities help improve physical well-being, emotional health, and cognitive functioning. Teach new techniques to enjoy familiar activities and could also prevent further decline.
- Therapeutic activities, such as art, music, poetry, dance, and gardening, nurture the human spirit and allow for personal expressions of emotions and feelings. Also included are reminiscence therapy and daily physical exercise.
Health and Wellness
To assist with monitoring the participants’ health conditions (direct care), a licensed nurse, social worker, certified nursing assistants, health care aides, and an activity coordinator will be on site. Each participant has an individualized Care Plan to enable the Healthcare Team to tailor activities and fulfill personal care needs. Licensed Nursing Staff administers, supervises, and assists with medications taken during the center’s hours of operation.
We offer a USDA-approved catered meal along with two snacks daily. A Licensed Dietitian is on staff to monitor and ensure dietary needs (Special diets/Allergies) are met.
